Does God exist? For me, the answer is Yes. I learned first hand that God was real. I’m convinced that until a person experiences God for themselves, there will always be doubt. I spent a long time believing there was a God, believing in Jesus Christ, but believing is not knowing. Carl Jung said it himself when asked if he believed in God, he looked puzzled as if the question was irrelevant, (I saw a video) Then he looked at the interviewer and said, “I know”.
Of course people will disagree with me that God is real, that you can know for sure, but that’s to be expected. People always disagree. If you ever see 100% of the people agreeing with each other, then they’re probably robots that only look like humans. Experiencing God, is becoming part of a spiritual realm where God is. God meets you wherever you are and brings you in.
Even though he is the king, you become his child with all the blessings he can give you. God’s kingdom is free, you can’t reason your way in, or try to earn it. You don’t even have to understand it at all. You just have to ask, and you instantly become his child, a member of his family. As they say, it doesn’t take a genius.
That’s what I did. I had to become willing to bow down to the King and pledge him my fealty; willing to serve the king’s desires instead of my own. Once I was ready, I asked, and he came. Showed me his kingdom in a way that I would understand. I’ve seen that same process with everyone I’ve known who asked God to take them in. He relates to each person uniquely, in ways they will understand. It’s pretty cool!
If it’s possible to experience God intellectually, to work out his existence with logic, then I haven’t seen it. I have seen religious teachers and authorities intellectually prove their point about who God is and what God wants, but it’s clear to me that they never met him. The great religious institutions and authorities believe they are the rules of God’s kingdom. With intimidation or reason, claiming divinity or ruling over people as a king, but they are imposters. They have not experienced God, met him or become part of his kingdom. Jesus many times confronted such people in his time calling them vipers, snakes, scorpions, people who deceive and oppress others with their self-righteousness.
I can’t prove to anyone that God exists, but no one can prove that he doesn’t. Go find out for yourself, if you don’t believe me. In fact, that’s the best way to know.
