Mat_6:33 But seek ye first God is the king, defender of his people, in both a spiritual and physical realm, where the ruling principle is to emulate the king, in protecting, nurturing, comforting, and sacrificing self interest for the good of each other. and his legal system, his ruling principles, his governance and authority; and Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:21 Do not let yourself be distracted from your true purpose which is to love one another. (mine) That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Matthew 6:25 shall be added unto you.
Jesus is teaching here that pursuing and running after the things of this world, that we think we need, are not how we should live. He is telling us that God, is like a parent that will take care of us and our needs. Our entire focus should be the kingdom principle, which is to act in love to each other; to our neighbor, our community, our country, and to our world. God will take care of the rest. No worries. In God’s kingdom, our needs do not come first!
